 ATEX certification and IECEx certification

IECEx and ATEX equipment certification by issued KSC meets legal requirements
for products used in explosive atmospheres.

ATEX is a legal prerequisite for marketing within EU, and IECEx provides an internationally acceptable certification. Here most applicants for explosion proof certification choose to issue certificates for both ATEX and IECEx schemes at the same time.
KSC (KSCP) is at the forefront of international product certification with the IECEx equipment certification scheme. Furthermore, it is one of the main European notified bodies issuing the documents required by the European ATEX Directive.

It is possible to have a direct dialogue between the customer’s engineer and our explosion-proof engineer. You can avoid potential problems and misunderstandings that occur when corresponding  through non-technical representatives, which is the common practice.
You can also take advantage of our technical advisory services before the process begins to ensure your project is a success.

There are two parts to ATEX product certification. The two certifications are treated separately, but the manufacturer can issue a combined “Declaration of Conformity” for both.
• Type Examination: Evaluate, test and define prototypes or representative samples.
• Quality Module Audit (QAN): Ensures future production is identical to the ‘type’ assessed.

On the other hand, ATEX is a hybrid system. In the case of ATEX certification, some equipment also allows all documentation to be issued directly by the manufacturer without going through a notified body.
